Heavy snowfall alert for Sea to Sky Highway

Staff report
February 24, 2021 5:36pm

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Sea to Sky Highway.

The cold front crossing the BC South Coast will produce heavy snow over the Sea to Sky Highway from Squamish to Whistler.

The snow begins late this evening.

Snowfall accumulations of 15 to 20 cm are expected before the heavy snow eases to scattered flurries on Thursday morning.

Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions, warns Environment Canada.

Adjust to winter driving behaviour and use winter tires and chains.

Severe weather can be reported at BCstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.
