Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Howe Sound.
Strong winds can be expected today.
An intense Pacific cold front will move across the south coast near mid day. Strong southerly winds over many areas this morning will shift to strong west or northwest this afternoon.
Winds will gust to 70 km/h with locally stronger gusts this afternoon and evening. Power outages are possible at these wind speeds.
Winds will ease later tonight as a ridge of high pressure builds over the region.
