New COVID-19 notification for Whistler store

Loblaws has issued a new notification about employees testing positive at the Sewak’s Your Independent Grocer at 8200 Bear Paw Trail in Whistler.

The alert was issued today.

“Three team members tested positive for COVID-19. The last day the team members worked was on March 22, March 26 and March 28,” the company said.

“We are committed to being transparent to being transparent with our colleagues and our customers, and have all of our cases listed on our corporate website,” the company said.

Meanwhile, Vancouver Coastal Health says it has recorded an increase in people testing positive in the community.

From Mar. 22 to Mar. 28, VCH identified 218 new cases of COVID-19 in Whistler. From Jan. 1 to Mar. 28, there have been 1,120 cases recorded in the Whistler community.

Those in Whistler concerned about COVID-19 can also call the dedicated COVID clinic line at 604-966-1428 between 9 and 2 pm daily.

An appointment will be made to speak with a screening doctor who will assess you over the telephone and decide if a COVID test is required.
