Access to the Oceanfront will be restricted as Oceanfront Squamish moves forward with development on the land.

In an update, Oceanfront Squamish said some access to the southern area of the Oceanfront peninsula would be closed in April.

“We strive to maintain as much access as is safely possible, however some access to the southern area of the Oceanfront peninsula will be closed starting beginning of April 2021 – and will remain closed for the duration of construction,” the company said.

This construction project is expected to continue to the end of June 2021.

The construction project includes an extension of the Oceanfront main road as well as work on the Presentation Center and Public House.

This project will also pull municipal utilities down the remainder of the main road to service future development.

Access to the Oceanfront will also be affected in areas and trails adjacent to the construction.

“Enhanced safety precautions will be taken through increased signage and onsite security personnel,” the company said.
