Suspect damages door in attempted break-and-enter in Brackendale

Staff report
April 14, 2021 12:25pm

Squamish RCMP are investigating after an attempted break-and-enter in which the suspect damaged a door of a home in Brackendale.

On April 10, between 10 pm and 8 am, the suspect tried to break into a home in the 1000 block of Cypress Place in Brackendale.

The suspect caused damage to the door but was unsuccessful. In a similar such incident, a suspect tried to drill a large hole in glass to gain entry.

On April 12, between 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm, residents complained of a window being broken in a residential complex in the 1300 block of Main Street.

Police say the suspect appeared to have drilled a large hole in the glass to enter, but wasn’t successful.

On April 12, Squamish RCMP received a complaint of suspicious man in the 39000 block of Government Road.

The resident’s home surveillance system captured him checking for unlocked car doors in the area, although no cars were broken into.

Police are reminding local residents to secure their vehicles and property, do regular checks, and report anything suspicious to police.

Anyone with any information regarding the above cases are asked to call the Squamish RCMP at 604-892-6100, or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or go to the website www.solvecrime.ca
