staff report
April 18, 2021 3:43pm

Squamish RCMP are investigating an accident involving two vehicles on Government Road where one of the driver was driving under the influence, police say.

Earlier this afternoon at about 1:30 pm, Squamish RCMP responded to the accident  in the 41000 block of Government Road in Brackendale.

The accident happened when the driver of a pickup truck rear-ended another car, causing minor injuries to those in the car.

Police determined the driver was DUI and he was issued an  immediate roadside driving prohibition under the Motor Vehicle Act.

All parties involved in the accident were cleared at scene by BC Emergency Health Services.

The road is now open for traffic.
