42 months jail time for man who committed break-ins in Squamish

Staff report
May 6, 2021 12:23pm

On March 17, 2021, a North Vancouver judge convicted and sentenced Kevin Michael Caron, of Surrey, BC, to 42 months jail on seven charges of break and enter and fraud.

Caron had committed a series of offences between May 2014 and January 2019 in Squamish and other BC towns.

Caron and his associates had an operation that spanned multiple cities including Delta, Golden, Langley, Richmond, Surrey, Calgary, Edmonton, and Okotoks.  They would target vacant homes, break in to steal property, and use stolen identities to rent cars to transport stolen goods between cities.

Caron and his accomplices stole included jewelry, specialty spoons, comic books, stamps, guns, identification, mobile phones, art work, and other electronics.

The hard work of the investigative team resulted in the arrest and conviction of this person, said Squamish RCMP.

“Squamish RCMP worked extensively with other police partners, and the hard work of our investigative team led to the arrest and conviction of this person,” says Staff Sergeant Gareth Bradley of the Squamish Detachment.

Squamish RCMP asks anyone with any information regarding this or any crime to contact the Squamish RCMP at 604-892-6100, or, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or go to www.solvecrime.ca
