Thieves try to steal vehicle from local school

Squamish RCMP are investigating a report of break-and-enter at Howe Sound Secondary School auto yard.

The incident happened on May 3.

Police said suspects tried to unsuccessfully steal a GMC 2500 pickup.

The Forensic Investigation Section attended the scene to collect evidence, and police are investigating.

Excessive Speed

On April 28, Squamish RCMP were conducting speed enforcement on Highway 99 when officers noticed a new driver travelling at 150 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

Police issued the driver a violation ticket for excessive speed, and impounded the car for seven days.
