Starting this Monday, May 17, those visiting the Lynn Canyon Park will have to pay $3 to park there.
The two-year pilot project by DNV and Metro Vancouver will continue through to October this year.
DNV says the program will help manage parking and traffic congestion in the park and surrounding neighbourhoods.
However, DNV residents are eligible to purchase a $10 annual DNV Park Parking Pass, and vehicles with a disability decal are also exempt from payment.
The Lynn Canyon park attracts more than one million visitors every year, and it is one of Lower Mainland’s most popular destinations.
During the summer season, more than 2,500 vehicles are parked there. A similar pilot project by Metro Vancouver from March to October is also underway at the Lynn Headwater Regional Park.

Yes, we do not grab enough money from visiting tourists, let’s slap every one with additional fee…
Greedy people, why would we manage our money better when we can always grab more money from people who never complain… Pilot project, genius…
