Police seek info on kayak stolen from Porteau Cove campsite

Staff report
May 12, 2021 11:46am

Squamish RCMP are investigating after a kayak was stolen from a campsite at Porteau Cove Provincial Park.

The stolen Audicy 100 Pelican kayak is valued at about $500, is black and red, has an orange top and white bottom, and a black storage lid.

On May 8, Squamish RCMP also investigated a fraud that happened after the complainant reported their wallet had been stolen.

The thief used the citizen’s card locally to purchase things. The citizen has since cancelled the card and has contacted Equifax and Trans-Union to prevent further frauds.

On May 9, Squamish RCMP responded to a two-car accident that happened south of Porteau Cove on Highway 99.

Investigation has determined the collision resulted after one driver tried to overtake another driver. One person was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
