‘Squamish Champions’ training program launched by chamber

Staff report
May 28, 2021 6:09am

The Squamish Chamber has launched a training and educational ambassador program, ‘Squamish Champions.’

The program started in May 2021.

Program launch includes complimentary registration for workshops of the ambassador’s choice on June 9 and June 29.

The ambassador program covers customer service, local business knowledge, history and the environment.

It is ideal for those who want to improve their local business mindset and customer service skills,” says Louise Chamber, the executive director of the Squamish Chamber of Commerce.

“It is open to all and designed to provide an inclusive program that fosters engaged, informed and proud ambassadors of our community, where our residents and businesses support one another,”

Registration is at no cost, with a high-value return for chamber members and wider community. Training will be ongoing with options available online and in-person, when viable.

Educational assets are offered from a newly developed online portal open to all, including self-led modules packaged to conclude in a graduate certification and exclusive Squamish Champion’s rewards.

“Squamish residents and workers are invited to join the program, expand their knowledge of Squamish and help us deliver on the promise that Squamish is a great place to live, work and visit,” Chamber said.

Throughout training modules participants can earn a program-designed pin badge, signed Sarah Symes artist print and are eligible for #supportsquamish prize worth $500.
