Squamish RCMP has issued an alert about four children missing at the Stawamus Chief trail.

On June 16, at approximately 1:45 pm a group of hikers including four children, set up to hike the Stawamus Chief.

The children were separated from their party and have not been able to be located.

“We are looking for anyone on The Chief or in the area to keep a look out for the children and call 911 immediately if they are located,” Squamish RCMP says.

Squamish RCMP, Squamish SAR, and Air 1 are currently in the area.

The description is follows:

I agree Don, the Stawamus Chief is not the safest place for such young children to be without adult supervision. However, it is probable that they went down a wrong trail and are confused about which way leads back.
