Heat warning for Howe Sound

Staff report
June 19, 2021 10:23am

Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Howe Sound.

A short-lived heat wave is set to arrive on the South Coast on Father’s Day.

The alert is for Sunday and Monday. Temperatures will be five to 10 degrees above seasonal.

Besides Howe Sound, the alert is also in effect for Metro Vancouver, Fraser Valley, Sunshine Coast, Southern Gulf Islands and Vancouver Island.

Day time temperatures will peak in the low-thirties through Monday, and the warm spell will shift inland on Tuesday, ushering the hot air into the Interior.

To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.
