Investigators have arrested a woman suspected of calling in a fake bomb threat to Caulfeild Village Safeway in West Vancouver.
On June 17, at approximately 12 pm, officers evacuated the Safeway store after they received information that indicated a possible explosive device planted inside.
Officers remained on scene until 3:15 pm, when the store was cleared by three explosives-detection dogs, from the RCMP LMD PDS, as well as Metro Vancouver Transit Police.
No suspicious devices were located.
On June 22, Detectives arrested a female youth, who resides in Vancouver, in relation to this incident.
The investigation determined that the information was unfounded and that at no time was the public in danger.
The youth was later released from custody with a court date.
Criminal charges will be recommended.
WVPD would like to express appreciation to the Caulfeild Village merchants and local community for their patience last week, while officers conducted their investigation.
