An accident on Highway 99 has claimed the life of a motorcyclist.
On August 9, at about 6:30 pm, Squamish RCMP responded to a serious motorcycle accident on Highway 99 near Lions Bay.
An off duty fire fighter was one of the first on scene and started first aid.
Lions Bay Fire Rescue, Squamish Emergency Health Services, and Squamish RCMP also tried to give first-aid to the man, but he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation continues and police are asking for anyone who was in the area during this time to contact Squamish RCMP, especially if they have dash camera or mobile phone video.
Police are also hoping to speak with the driver of a grey Toyota sedan and another motorcyclist who were in the area and might have seen what happened.
“We feel for friends, family, and responders who helped to try and save the rider. This makes our appeal even more important so we can piece together what happened,” says Corporal Angela Kermer of the Squamish RCMP.
