The Brennan Park Recreation Centre pool will be closed for annual maintenance from September 8 through October 2.
The fall pool schedule and swim lessons will resume on Sunday, October 3.
The annual pool closure occurs in order to complete preventative maintenance on all areas of the Aquatic Centre including the pools, steam room, hot tub, change rooms and mechanical areas, and to help prevent larger, more costly problems from occurring.
This year’s maintenance includes engineering inspections and subsequent repairs to overhead play equipment, as well as various mechanical and plumbing repairs.
There will be deep cleaning and disinfection of all surfaces at the pool as well. District crews will also work to upgrade pool deck lighting to convert existing fixtures to energy-saving LED.
A damaged water feature in the main pool will be replaced with a new surprise addition.
