RCMP has recovered the bodies of three men from the Duffy Lake area mudslide. Search for one man continues.
Over the last few days, the RCMP has been working closely with provincial emergency responders and Pemberton and Lillooet Search and Rescue teams to locate, extract and conclusively identify the three men and notify their next of kin.
These three men were amongst those who were confirmed missing earlier this week, states S/Sgt. Janelle Shoihet of the BC RCMP.
RCMP has been continuing the search for one more man, though search efforts have been hampered by weather and site conditions.
“Our thoughts continue to be with all of those who have been impacted in this terrible tragedy,” RCMP said.
Search efforts, which included a police service dog continued throughout the remainder of Friday morning but have now since concluded.
All current search efforts have been exhausted and discussions are underway as to how and when, best to proceed.
The area remains closed to motorists, though the road is expected to open tomorrow.

You ought to have included that when the Duffy road opens it will only be open for emergency vehicles and emergency travel with a link to https://www.facebook.com/TranBC or somewhere else that details what constitutes essential travel and where restrictions apply. Just sayin’.
No one wants to see a rush of traffic heading for the Duffy.
