Drunk driver fined after Highway 99 crash

Squamish RCMP fined and issued a 24-hour driving prohibition to a drunk driver after crash on Highway 99.

On December 23, 2021, a driver lost control of her car and crashed into a ditch on Highway 99, north of the Big Orange Bridge.

Squamish Fire Rescue had to extract the driver and she was later taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Police determined the woman was drunk and she was issued a 24-hour driving prohibition under the Motor Vehicle Act.

On December 25, Squamish RCMP investigated a report of theft from the parking lot of a local hotel in the 39400 block of Discovery Way.

The theft took place sometime between 8:45 am to 9 am. Thieves stole a ski bag including boots, a helmet, goggles, and gloves, all items valued at $1,500.
