District offers Firesmart asessments for Valleycliffe, Garibaldi Highlands, Paradise Valley residents

The District of Squamish is offering free Firesmart Home Assessments to interested residents of Garibaldi Highlands, Valleycliffe and Paradise Valley in February 2022.

These neighbourhoods have been identified in the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP), as having an increased risk to wildfire.

Home assessments are an opportunity to receive in person recommendations from a Local Firesmart Representative on how to help reduce wildfire risk to the property.

Assessments will be by appointment only, take approximately 1 hour and will be based on the Firesmart Home Assessment Score Card and Firesmart Begins at Home Manual.

A member of the household must be present during the assessment. Here are the available time slots in Garibaldi Highlands and Valleycliffe.

8 – 9 am

9:30 – 10:30 am

11 a.m.- 12 pm

12:30 – 1:30 pm

2 – 3 pm

3:30 – 4:30 pm

Friday,  February 11

Tuesday, February 15

Tuesday,  March 1 to Saturday, March 5

Wednesday, March 9

Saturday, March 12

Available timeslots in Paradise Valley

8 – 9 a.m.

9:30 – 10:30 a.m.

11 a.m. – 12 p.m.

12:30 – 1:30 p.m. or

2 – 3 p.m.
