Staff report
January 28, 2022 10:04am

The Squamish Public Library is scheduled to re-open its doors on Monday, January 31.

Some exciting, new features at the renovated library include:

Modern sound-reducing hexagon light panels;

New feature wall, highlighting new and recommended titles;

Fun, new bookshelves;

New central service desk;

New public computer area;

Updated staff area;

A dedicated space for library take-out service with exterior take-out window for quick access from our parking lot.

The library is also bringing in more furniture this week, and it is busy setting up the staff area, computers, and the check-out stations while the rest of the new lights are being installed.

Library take-out service continues to be available, and the library staff is available during take-out hours. You can reach the staff at library@squamish.ca, or call at 604-892-3110.

“We truly appreciate everyone’s patience and can’t wait to open our doors to the community again and welcome everyone into a freshly renovated library,” the library stated.

Public computers and printing will not be available upon re-opening, but will be set up as soon as possible.

The library will reopen with new hours:

Monday to Saturday: 10 am to 5 pm

Wednesday: 10 am to 7 pm

Sunday: Closed

The Library is also hiring a manager of operations and technology.
