Staff report
February 2, 2022 10:23am

Squamish RCMP officers issued a ticket to a driver speeding in Brackendale and impounded the vehicle. On January 28, officers were conducting safety enforcement south of Depot Road, when they observed the vehicle travelling 134 km/hr in an 80 km/hr zone.

The vehicle, with Washington licence plates, was impounded, and a ticket was issued to the vehicle owner.

Impaired driver arrested

On January 29, officers were conducting proactive patrols in Squamish when they passed a vehicle where the licence plate was registered to an unlicensed driver. When stopped by police, officers observed the driver’s eyes were bloodshot and there was a strong odour of liquor on the driver’s breath.

The driver failed the test and was given a 90-day roadside prohibition and the vehicle was impounded for a month.
