Lillooeet RCMP has charged one man for murder that took place on the evening of March 15, Tuesday. Justin Ehlert, 35, of Lillooet, has been charged with homicide and is being held in custody pending a future court date.
On the evening of March 15, Lillooet RCMP were called about a man who was down in the 600 block of Main St, Lillooet. First responders came to find the man suffering from serious injuries. He was transported to Lillooet hospital where he later succumbed to those injuries.
The victim has been identified as Leeland Alexander, 25, from Lillooet. Investigators from the ‘E’ Div Major Crime Unit (MCU) spent several days in Lillooet speaking to witnesses and gathering evidence in this investigation, said Sergeant Chris Manseau of BC RCMP.
“The Lillooet RCMP and EDiv Major Crime Unit want to thank the work done on this investigation by the Statlimx Tribal Police, who were at the scene of the incident prior to the RCMP’s arrival,” he said.
