A water main project near Park Royal could lead to traffic delays. In order to restore the road following an earlier watermain upgrade, the District of West Vancouver will be paving Taylor Way, between Marine Drive and Keith Road.
Overnight asphalt milling and paving work is scheduled to begin on Thursday, April 21 and take two nights to complete. The construction timeline is subject to change due to weather and contractor availability.
All work will take place between 8 pm and 6 am.
The District plans to keep Taylor Way open to two-way traffic during construction, but cautions that drivers can expect delays while travelling through the area and should plan for extra travel time.
Construction signage and traffic control staff will be on site during construction to assist with traffic flow. However, pedestrian traffic will not be impacted. District bylaws concerning permitted hours of construction are not applicable on Taylor Way as it lies under the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure jurisdiction.
Taylor Way is considered an arterial highway and Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure regulations require night work to minimize impacts on heavy vehicle traffic during regular working hours.
