The District of Squamish has received a rezoning application to allow a six-storey building with two levels of commercial and 49 condos on four floors above.

The building will be located at 38123 Cleveland Avenue, the present location of Corsa Cycles.

A successful rezoning would permit a six-storey building with 16,300 square feet of commercial space, a parkade and 49 residential units.

As much as $49,298 in Community Amenity Contributions is being offered, including five units for affordable housing. 55 residential parking spaces will be provided, though 49 are required by the zoning bylaw. A decision on rezoning has yet to be made by the Squamish council.

District of Squamish has also received a development permit application for a townhome proposal in Dentville area. The application seeks to build six townhomes at 38373 Buckley Avenue, presently a single-detached home. Townhomes are allowed in the RM-1 zoning, and no variances are proposed.

This space at present has significant parking for the public. The proposal only has six non residential spots……not enough !
