Shooting on Capilano Reserve in West Vancouver sends one to hospital

Three suspects have been arrested after a shooting that injured one man on the Capilano Reserve in West Vancouver.

The shooting happened on the early hours of Saturday morning. The victim was taken to hospital with a gun shot wound that is not life threatening. The three suspects were arrested in Vancouver shortly after the incident.

According to a statement by Squamish Nation, the incident happened on Ikwikws Road. “The suspects have been apprehended by law enforcement and there is no further threat to the safety of our community at this time,” Squamish Nation said.

As this is an active police investigation, the area around Ikwikws Road will remain closed while police conduct their investigation, the Nation added.
