Staff report
June 7, 2022 5:36pm

Squamish RCMP, with help from Coquitlam RCMP, have recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested a suspect who stole that vehicle. Police say they received a report of a stolen vehicle that was parked on Main Street in Downtown Squamish on June 1.

The vehicle was later recovered in Coquitlam and a suspect has now been arrested in connection with the theft. On June 1, 2022 Squamish RCMP also received a report of a vehicle’s tires being slashed. The vehicle was parked in the 38000 block of Third Avenue when the incident happened.

On June 6, 2022 a vehicle parked on the Mamquam FSR was also broken into. The owner came back from a hike to find that the vehicle’s door was damaged to gain access to the vehicle. The vehicle was rummaged through and tools were stolen.

Police are seeking witnesses to the incident and can be contacted at 604-892-6100, or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or go to the website www.solvecrime.ca.
