A popular local pub is back in business. Shady Tree Pub in Garibaldi Estates reopens today after being closed for nearly two years.

“Yes, we are finally opening,” the restaurant said in a Facebook post yesterday.

“Same great Menu, Awesome Chicken Wings , our great Beer Selection and still your same friendly Neighbourhood Pub. See you there!!!”

The pub has a soft opening today from 4 pm to midnight, but will have regular hours from 11 am to midnight every day. While some changes have been made to the drinks menu, the food menu remains largely the same, said a manager.  “We have new appliances and the pub has been refreshed and we are looking forward to welcoming the community,” he said.

The pub had closed down in March 2020 and was used by Vancouver Coast Health as a COVID-19 testing centre for over a year.
