One wolf found dead by roadside, another still missing: Greater Vancouver Zoo

staff report
August 18, 2022 2:33pm

One wolf that had escaped the Greater Vancouver Zoo has been found dead while one wolf is still unaccounted for.

In an update, Menita Prasad, the zoo’s deputy general manager, said the wolf enclosure was cut off deliberately.

While one wolf was found dead by the roadside in Langley, another wolf, a one-year-old pup has still not been found. Langley RCMP is investigating this incident that the Zoo believe is malicious.

“We were really hopeful for a positive outcome for all the members of our wolf pack, but tragically we were heartbroken this morning to find Chia deceased at the side of the road,” Prasad told local media.
