Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Howe Sound.
Temperatures reaching 29 degrees Celsius combined with overnight lows near 16 degrees Celsius are expected for the next two days.
The heat warning is for Tuesday and Wednesday. Besides Howe Sound, Inland Vancouver Island, East Vancouver Island and Sunshine Coast are other places where the heat warning is in effect.
“A ridge of high pressure will bring a late season heat wave to parts of the South Coast this week. The peak daytime high temperatures are expected from Tuesday to Wednesday, but some locations may hang onto the heat through late this week,” says the agency.
Temperatures will remain above seasonal through the long weekend. The hottest time of the day will be late afternoon to early evening, while the coolest time of day will be near sunrise.
