Scheduled power outage in parts of Squamish tomorrow

staff report
October 29, 2022 8:59am

BC Hydro has scheduled a power outage tomorrow, October 30, from 9 am to 5 pm for parts of the community.

The two-hour outage will affect the properties on Buckley Avenue, Mcnamee Place, and Wilson Crescent. The outage list for municipalities can be accessed here.

Planned outages enable hydro crews to safely maintain the electric system, which helps reduce frequency of unplanned outages caused by storms and equipment failures, says BC Hydro.

Before the outage begins, people are advised to turn off electric heaters, major appliances and unplug sensitive electronics to protect them from damage.

Those who rely on electric medical equipment, access doors or garage doors should also have a plan to maintain use.
