Woman seriously injured after being pushed from bike on North Van trail

November 10, 2022 6:18pm

The North Vancouver Serious Crime Unit is investigating an incident that resulted in serious injuries to a woman this summer.

At approximately 2:40 pm on July 10, a woman riding a bicycle on the Spirit Trail in North Vancouver was pushed off her bicycle. The woman sustained serious but non life-threatening injuries from the fall.

The investigation revealed that an unknown passerby was directed by a man claiming to be an off-duty police officer to stop the woman on the bicycle, which resulted in her fall.

“We are aware that there were multiple people who witnessed the incident and interacted with the man who claimed to be a police officer, said Cst. Mansoor Sahak of the North Vancouver RCMP. We are asking for those people to come forward and speak to us.

The North Vancouver Serious Crime Unit is asking anyone with relevant information or anyone who witnessed the incident to please contact the North Vancouver Serious Crime Unit at 604-969-7506 or by email at naimi.grondin@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
