Driver injured in head-on collision on Highway 99

November 11, 2022 2:21pm

A car driver was taken to hospital following a head-on collision on Highway 99.

The accident happened last week around 3:25 pm near Lions Bay, when a pickup truck traveling southbound crossed the solid yellow line and collided head-on with a pickup truck going northbound.

The car driver sustained injuries and was transported to hospital, although the extent of the injuries remain unknown.

The highway remained closed for about an hour in both directions for investigation and clean-up. In another incident, a cyclist was injured after being hit by a car on Garibaldi Way near Highway 99.

The cyclist received undisclosed injuries and sought medical treatment as precaution.
