Notice of filming at Britannia Mine Museum

Staff report
January 30, 2023 7:07am

The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) is notifying the community that Worth Something Productions Inc. will be filming on location at the Britannia Mine Museum. Preparation will begin today and tomorrow, and then from February 1 from 7 am to 7 pm. Filming will take place on February 2 from 7 am to 11:30 pm and February 3 from 7 am to 1 am.

The shooting will wrap up on February 6 and 7, from 7 am to 7 pm. There will be no local traffic disruptions. A letter notifying local residents and neighbours has been distributed in advance of filming.

Yvonne Chiang from the Britannia Mine Museum, said the Museum is still open to the public this week, though the film project will take up the Mill and Machine shop spaces, which will be closed. A visitor notice is on the website and a special discount ticket is available for the filming days, February 2 and 2. The rest of the Museum is still open including the Underground Tour, Visitor Centre, A-Z Building, Gold Panning, Gift Shop and Cafe.

“The Britannia Mine Museum is fortunate enough to have many film projects take place at our site throughout the years because of our unique and memorable location and venues. In fact, we have had many Hollywood blockbusters and renowned TV series film here,” Chiang said.

Questions related to filming can be directed to Kyle Sevier, the Assistant Location Manager, at 778-828-7467.
