Squamish RCMP has arrested a man for assault with a weapon after he bear sprayed a man walking his dog on Stawamus Road. Both are known to each other, police say.
The incident happened on April 29, just before 8 pm, when a truck sped by the man walking his dog along Stawamus Road. The man yelled at the driver to slow down, after which the driver of the truck stopped and bear sprayed the man before driving away. Police later located the driver and arrested him for assault with a weapon. He has been released with a court date.
Pub brawl renders man unconscious
Police say they were called to Downtown Squamish after two men got into a fight outside a pub on April 30 around 1:45 pm on Cleveland Avenue. One man was knocked out briefly and was taken to hospital for treatment, where it was determined his injuries were not significant. He also did not wish to pursue assault charges against the man who hit him.
