Two motorcycle riders dead after collision on Highway 1: Lillooet RCMP

Two motorcycle riders have died after a fatal crash on Highway 1 near Lytton.

Lillooet RCMP said it received a report of a collision between a motorcycle and an SUV on Highway 1 between Spences Bridge and Lytton around 6:14 pm. Both motorcycle riders suffered significant injuries in the crash. They were provided first aid by bystanders, but were pronounced dead by first responders.

“It is too early in the investigation to determine cause but early indications suggests that the motorcycle may have crossed the centre line where it impacted the SUV,” sais Sgt. Kris Clark of Lillooet RCMP.  One lane on Highway 1 has opened but there may be intermittent closures of the second lane while the investigation continues, Clark added.
