The new Stong’s Market Squamish will begin construction in November 2023, with a grand opening scheduled for March 2024. The new concept store will focus on organic, fresh and local produce while becoming an integrated part of the Squamish community, the company said in a press release.
“We are excited to be opening our third location as a new concept for Stong’s in the growing community of Squamish,” said Brian Bradley, President, Stong’s Market. “We understand the importance of our local communities and becoming an integrated part of the places we call home. With our commitment to supporting local vendors and unique fresh offerings, Squamish is the ideal place for our newest Stong’s Market.”
As a leading locally owned independent grocery store, Stong’s Market has been providing exceptional selection with a community-based commitment for over 90 years, he added.

The launch of Stong’s Express Online Grocery Delivery will also begin this November. The new Stong’s Market will be a much smaller footprint than the current locations, and will focus on convenience and focus on serving the growing community within and around Squamish. With features including a huge selection of hot meals to go, Edibles deli, Harvest fresh produce and the well-known STEMS floral and gift ware, the new Stong’s Market is being designed with the active, outdoor, Squamish lifestyle in mind, the company said.
Stong’s also believes in being a good neighbour, with their support of local BC communities and charities dating back to the first store opened by Carson Stong in 1931. “Stong’s generosity and leadership have served as the foundation of Stong’s commitment to the community. That involvement has earned us a reputation of being more than just the local Vancouver grocer.”
