Residents of Metro Vancouver—North Shore, Metro Vancouver Northeast and Howe Sound— should be prepared for heavy rainfall today and tonight. A snowfall warning is also in effect for Whistler and Sea to Sky region from Squamish to Whistler.
According to Environment Canada, the regions will experience a moist Pacific frontal system that will bring heavy rain. The rainfall amounts are expected to reach 50 mm before the rain eases on Monday morning.
Drivers are advised to be cautious while driving due to heavy downpours, which can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. If visibility is reduced, drivers should slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop, the agency cautions.
Localized flooding in low-lying areas is also possible. Anyone experiencing severe weather conditions can report them by emailing BCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweeting reports using #BCStorm.
