The Squamish Community Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2027 Community Enhancement Grants, with the intake open until November 16, 2026.

A small subscription keeps the Squamish Reporter going.

Administered by the foundation on behalf of the District of Squamish, the program funds eligible nonprofit and charitable organizations delivering projects, programs and initiatives that benefit the Squamish community, according to a news release.

The grants support initiatives that align with the district’s Official Community Plan priorities of building a liveable, healthy, engaged, connected and resilient Squamish, the release says.

Funding priorities include decolonization and reconciliation initiatives, community and neighbourhood events, intergenerational programming, environmental stewardship, diversity equity and inclusion programming, physical and mental health and social wellbeing, initiatives led by youth, social services supporting vulnerable populations, and recreation programming. Projects with an arts or culture focus should instead apply for the Arts and Culture Grant administered by Squamish Arts, according to the release.

Organizations may receive funding from either the Arts and Culture Grant or the Community Enhancement Grant, but not both.

Eligible organizations are encouraged to review the program guidelines, eligibility criteria and application requirements before applying. Full details and the application are available at squamishfoundation.com/ceg.

The Squamish Community Foundation was founded in 2003 and holds more than $1.89 million in endowed funds, according to the release.
