Snowfall warning for Sea to Sky

staff report
February 11, 2024 9:28am

A snowfall warning is in effect for Sea to Sky and Whistler.

According to Environment Canada, the snow will be mixed with rain this afternoon and early evening, with snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 cm expected before the snow eases early Monday morning. A rainfall warning is also in effect for Howe Sound.

Visibility may be reduced in heavy snow, and surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways, and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Drivers are advised to adjust their driving to changing road conditions and to use winter tires and chains. Road conditions are available at drivebc.ca.

Please continue monitoring alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada and report severe weather by emailing BCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweeting reports using #BCStorm.
