An ‘extensive investigation’ by Squamish RCMP has revealed there was no attempted child abduction in Garibaldi Highlands.
The General Duty Watch and General Investigation Section Members of the Sea to Sky RCMP did an extensive investigation and concluded that there was no attempted abduction and that at no time was there any risk to the general public or the youth involved, police said in a press release issued early morning.
“The safety of the children in our community is of paramount importance to the Sea to Sky Squamish RCMP, and we would like to thank everyone who assisted investigators in the course of their investigation,” said Constable Katrina Boehmer, Media Relations Officer for Sea to Sky RCMP.
Police didn’t provide any details about the investigation.
Squamish RCMP had first reported that it was investigating an attempted child abduction attempt on February 9 near Highlands Way N and The Boulevard in Garibaldi Highlands, police said in a brief press release.
