Four men were arrested, and 2.5 kilograms of cocaine was seized by the police in a drug bust in Whistler last week.
On March 8, 2024, at 10 a.m., Whistler RCMP searched homes in Emerald, Creekside, and Village neighbourhoods in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies. Four local residents, all men in their early 30s, were arrested during the operation.
Whistler RCMP said in a press release that three men were Canadian, while one was Australian. The suspects have been released pending court appearances and are facing charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act for trafficking and possession for trafficking.
Staff Sergeant Sascha Banks said the Whistler RCMP and Sea to Sky GIS team started the drug investigation ten months ago and have worked diligently to nab the suspects. “We want to thank the RCMP teams: IERT, IPDS, and neighbouring detachments for their support last week. Although there was a heavy police presence last Friday, this was to ensure the safety of the Whistler community and the members involved.”
