In a rescue operation today, Squamish Search and Rescue responded to a distress call about a woman who had slipped and fallen down a section of Shannon Falls. She suffered a head injury but managed to remain in place while her friends sought help.
“Just before 11 am this morning, we received a call regarding a woman who had slipped and taken a substantial fall down a section of Shannon Falls. Despite suffering a head injury, she managed to stay put while her friends called for help,” SAR said in a social media post.
With help from Squamish Fire Rescue and Blackcomb helicopters, rescue teams were able to reach the injured woman and successfully extract her using a long-line rescue technique. Squamish SAR urges the public to exercise caution, maintain a safe distance from the fall, and prioritize safety when visiting Shannon Falls.

“We would like to remind everyone once again that the rocks around the edges of waterfalls are smooth and very slippery. Please keep your distance and stay safe,” SAR said.
