The District of Squamish Council will vote on a development permit for a six-storey mixed-use apartment building at 38054 and 38060 Second Avenue.

The project is a six-storey mixed-use development providing 595 square metres of employment space at levels 1 and 2 and 31 residential units from levels 3 to 6. There will be 35 parking spaces provided on-site, which meets the parking requirements for Downtown Squamish. The building will consolidate two lots and replace the existing two buildings.

This is the first time that the Council has considered this application. The proposal was previously presented to the Advisory Design Panel (ADP) for feedback at the December 21, 2023, meeting.

The subject site consists of two separate parcels and is located at 38054 and 38060 Second Avenue, mid-block on the east side between Victoria Street to the south and Winnipeg Street to the north. The proposed development consolidates the two lots and provides side and rear lane access.

The development will also include a plaza space on the northwest corner, an amenity area, and indoor and rooftop-covered outdoor space. The 31 residential units include a mix of 1, 2, and 3-bedroom units and dens, flex spaces, and generous storage. Every unit will have a balcony.

Aligned with the District of Squamish Bylaws and OCP Alternative Transportation objectives, 11 parking stalls will be equipped with Electric Vehicle charging capabilities, and 100% of the parking stalls will have electrification roughed-in for future EV charging.

Bicycle storage rooms are provided on all residential floors, with 64 available spaces.
