Police investigate assault on senior aboard Horseshoe Bay-Langdale Ferry

The Sunshine Coast RCMP are investigating an assault that took place on a BC Ferry travelling from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale on December 26.

According to police, the incident occurred inside the elevator of the 4:20 p.m. sailing. When the elevator doors opened, several passengers may have seen the suspect and the victim, a 79-year-old Sechelt man who sustained facial injuries during the assault.

Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to police to come forward. Witnesses can contact the Sunshine Coast RCMP at 604-885-2266, referencing file 2024-9895.

The investigation remains ongoing.
