IHIT is investigating the death of a 22-year-old woman in Pemberton. To advance the investigation, IHIT is identifying the deceased woman as twenty-two-year-old Tabitha Peters of Pemberton.

On February 22, 2025, at approximately 10 am, Pemberton RCMP responded to a report of an unresponsive woman in the 7400 block of Prospect Street. She was declared dead on the scene. The woman’s death has been deemed suspicious, and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is now investigating her death.

IHIT continues to work closely in partnership with the Pemberton RCMP, the Squamish RCMP, the Whistler RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS), and the BC Coroners Service. Initial evidence suggests this was an isolated incident with no risk to the public, IHIT said in a press release.

“We are in the beginning stages of our investigation,” Corporal Esther Tupper of IHIT says. “We’re asking anyone with information to please come forward.” IHIT is asking anyone with information regarding the investigation to contact the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
