Sea to Sky Highway closed in both directions after accident

Update: The Highway is now open. One person is in hospital after a motorcycle crash.

Highway 99 is closed in both directions south of the Furry Creek Bridge following a motorcycle crash that sent one to hospital. An air ambulance is on the scene.

The closure affects a 0.4-kilometre stretch between Porteau Cove and Sea View Drive, approximately 7 to 8 kilometres south of Squamish. Authorities have not provided details on injuries or the number of vehicles involved.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area and expect significant delays. The next update from DriveBC is expected at 5:30 pm.

    I drove past this just as paramedics arrived. There was a paramedic tending to someone in between the two middle barriers.
