A Vancouver restaurant group has opened a new dining spot along the Sea to Sky Highway.

Autostrada Oyster Bar & Grill welcomed its first guests this month in the redeveloped Britannia Village, located about 40 minutes north of Vancouver. The restaurant occupies the restored historic School House and was designed by Vancouver studio Ste. Marie. It offers views of Howe Sound and the surrounding mountains.

The new location is Autostrada Hospitality’s first restaurant outside Vancouver. Co-founders Dustin Dockendorf and Lucais Syme said they wanted to create a dining experience that reflects the scenery of the Sea to Sky corridor.

“The Sea to Sky is one of the world’s great journeys,” Syme said. “We wanted to create a stop along the way that’s as memorable as the drive itself.”

The menu features a raw bar with BC oysters, albacore tuna crudo, and Dungeness crab salad, along with larger plates such as spaghetti vongole, spring salmon, and beef bavette. A seafood tower for up to four people is expected to be a signature dish.

Cocktails include the El Corazon, described as a cross between an Aperol spritz and a margarita, and the Golden Hour, made with rum, amaretto, and pineapple juice. The drinks list also highlights BC producers, including Coast Mountain Brewing in Whistler and Backcountry Brewing in Squamish.

The opening is part of the larger revitalization of Britannia Village, which restored and moved eight original buildings from the area. The redevelopment follows decades of environmental recovery in Howe Sound after mining runoff from the former copper mine closed in the 1970s. The new village includes shops, dining, playgrounds, and EV charging stations.

Autostrada Oyster Bar & Grill seats 125 people across its dining room, patio, and raw bar. Current hours are Thursday to Monday, 3 to 9 p.m., with weekend openings starting at noon. The restaurant plans to expand to daily service by May 2026. Reservations are available through OpenTable.
