Rainfall warning issued for Squamish

Staff report
September 29, 2025 9:46am

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a Rainfall Warning for Howe Sound, including Squamish, as a strong Pacific system is expected to bring rain, at times heavy, through Monday. Up to 60 millimetres of rain are expected before the system eases in the afternoon.

Expect reduced visibility, pooling water on roads, flash flooding in low-lying areas, and possible washouts near rivers, creeks, and culverts. Winds from the southeast are adding to the unsettled conditions, with temperatures hovering around 15 °C.

The River Forecast Centre has also issued a Flood Watch for the region. Officials are urging residents to monitor weather updates, prepare for difficult travel conditions, and stay clear of fast-flowing waterways.
