Bus riders in Squamish will travel free on weekends and holidays this summer as BC Transit and the District of Squamish roll out a series of seasonal service changes starting June 8, 2026.

All routes, including the newly launched OnDemand service, will be fare-free every Saturday, Sunday and statutory holiday through September 7.

The changes also bring back Route 5 South Park for the summer season. The route serves the Adventure Centre, the Sea to Sky Gondola, Stawamus Chief Provincial Park and Sp’akw’us Feather Park, connecting those destinations to downtown Squamish.

Riders can access the new OnDemand service in the south Squamish area by booking trips through the BC Transit OnDemand app or by calling in.

Starting June 29, school-focused trips on Route 1 Brackendale and Route 4 Garibaldi will be suspended for the summer. Those trips are scheduled to resume September 8 when the new school year begins.

More information on schedules, fares and trip planning is available at bctransit.com/squamish.
