Squamish Helping Hands will celebrate its 20th anniversary on Oct. 27 with public tours of Under One Roof and a gathering at Howe Sound Brew Pub, the organization announced.
The open house will give residents a chance to meet staff, volunteers, and participants and learn about the organization’s housing, food, and outreach programs.
Guided tours will run from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at Under One Roof, 37871 Third Ave. Visitors will see frontline and outreach workspaces, participant living areas, the food bank, kitchen, laundry and overdose prevention site.
The organization says the tours will offer a chance to ask questions and see how its services operate behind the scenes.
A celebration will follow at Howe Sound Brew Pub from 5 to 7 p.m., featuring snacks, beverages and the launch of Squamish Helping Hops, a hazy pale ale brewed for the anniversary.
The gathering will include reflections on the organization’s work over the past two decades and its plans for the future. Residents interested in attending should RSVP to acowie@shhs.ca.
